Idea 1: sword in the stone
Sword handle with gloves gripping the hilt
Aim of the game pull the sword out of the stone
Idea 2: Duel
You need to attack the enemy in on of three point,
The enemy will guard in two of three places, you need to attack in the point where he isn’t guarding. If you attack one of the two points where he is guarding then he attacks and you lose a life.
When you damage the enemy his scarf will change color from green, to orange, to red and then broken when he is defeated.
If you are hit screen will flash red and shake once you lose all your lives it says you died.
The player has three lives.

The duel micro game is our plan

The Areas blocking are indicated by highlighted lines with a sword indicator you click on to attack.

The idea is their are four hit areas you strike where the shields are not protecting.
Sounds we plan to use should involve metal ringing and a bones clashing along side defeat and victory sounds.

Play boarding and concepts are being worked on with the sounds being sorted.

This play board is just to give the group a basic idea of how we want the game to go and to decide if things need changing. the full designs will be made and then the final paly board will be getting worked on to rally start pulling the pieces together and if any final changes need making.

The team is using source tree to coordinate access to the unity files more smoothly and so the whole group has access to it.

concepts have been finished by our group artist

The damage effects for when the player does an attack and when they are hit have also been done.

The Game Design Document (GDD) is being worked on but at this time not much else’s can be properly be added to expand on it.

Unity Engine is being used to pull our game together on we are using C# in visual studio to code it. The version of the software being used is 2018.2.2f1 with visual studio 2017. The file layout Starts with the Unity file then the Scene file and from there it splits into Assets, Scripts and sounds. the files themselves are stored on source tree but are backed up on the one drive encase of problems. As of the moment the coder is planning on making the code more understandable by giving the parts of the code adequate names to show what each major part of the code does. The assets are being hand drawn and then scanned in, from their the group artist will most likely be using Photoshop to add little touch up to the images to make sure that they need any adjustments made.

The second scrum meeting has taken place,
So far we have no access to unity so progress is going to drop a bit so the group is focusing on hastening the progress of the game art.

sword concepts have been created

Overall the group decided on the sword on the left being the best of the three an will most likely be the sword we use. The group concept artist will be doing a more detailed drawing.

The main character art is being worked on and the sounds, screen effects and

As of currently the unity file has its scenes set up but we still need to program the game for it to actually do anything. since our group coder is absent I’m going to make an attempt at coding it but it is not going to come out how I was probably hoping it to. As long as we can get something working then hat will be good.
13/10/20
The Unity file has the scenes and buttons set up with a piece of code that allows for the scene to be able to switch out.
19/10/20
The code for the unity scenes have been finished and the levels all link together now the artist needs to finish of the last few bits of artwork and the final design of the game can be sorted. The only things that remain for the game is to get the proper background art and to make the start screen and design the victory screen. We aren’t going to be able to get everything we wanted into the game but we are going to try to get as much in as we can.
20/10/20
The games levels have been done and the buttons from which to switch scenes have been set up so they don’t cover the screen and now all say ‘Strike’ to keep things simple the only things remaining are to link sounds up to the buttons but as of the moment the artist is doing the last pieces of the character art.
Four parts of the game I wish to polish: firstly I would like to polish up the positioning of the character and the buttons so that they remain in relatively the same position so that the game doesn’t look like I just threw the designs in the scene. Adding sounds so that the game has a bit more spark to it. Stylise the victory screen further so that it just isn’t a boring end screen. Make the text of the buttons more fancy to fit with the theme.
my ideas for polishing would be to fix anything that directly impacts how to game plays or how it looks because sometimes games have had moments where in cutscenes non of the textures render properly and everything is immensely low texture.
Unfortunately only one of the sounds work as the others are a different file type and i have no idea of how to convert them to an mp3 file.
23/10/20: The Micro game is finished.

The game is at a point to were it is playable but were were unable to make the game up to the point we were hoping for as we encountered numerous difficulties near the final few weeks of the project. Firstly we were unable to access unity for a week that we planned to fully start on pulling what the group had done together. After that our group programmer couldn’t come in and so we had to improvise with me taking up the role of the designer and coder because of this. Once i tried to get the sounds to work I discovered that all but one of the sound that i had gotten for the project didn’t work as unity didn’t recognise the file type. Overall, the game works and is playable, but isn’t up to the quality that we wanted it to.
